From flipping through design magazines to attending home industry trade shows to keeping tabs on global interior design styles, I’m constantly researching what’s new and innovative in the design world.

But here’s an important detail: not every trend makes the cut. My goal isn’t to chase fleeting fashions that will feel outdated in a year or two. Instead, I look for elements of trending styles that seamlessly blend with timeless design principles. This is where neutral decor comes into play.

Neutral shades—think soft creams, warm beiges, and elegant grays—are the foundation of virtually every home decor subscription box I curate. These hues are versatile, calming, and serve as the perfect base for layering textures, seasonal accents, or colorful statement pieces.
