Interior Design Services for a vacation home in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is filled with vacation homes for families living in and around the Bay Area.
Abode Interiors was contacted by a sweet family from Santa Cruz, CA who were in need of a full refresh of their vacation ski condo on the north shore of Lake Tahoe.
The Client Requests
Our Incline Village Ski Chic family needed a complete overhaul of the entire space. This included a few key changes to help bring the space to life: new LVP flooring in the main living space, new carpet in the bedrooms, new paint throughout, a small bathroom renovation, new lighting fixtures with updated furniture & decor.
The best part for me was the client's love of color, pattern, texture and funky style. Her taste to leaned mid-century modern and she had a fondness for velvet. We discussed the need for wanting to keep it in a "Tahoe" theme, but without bears and old-fashioned rustic lodge feel. So, I had a fun and challenging project on my hands - make the space feel retro, ski-chic while also keeping it modern with lots of color and coziness.
The Kitchen
It's amazing what fresh paint and new hardware can do for a space. Wanting to keep some of the traditional mountain style, we opted to keep the kitchen cabinets in their natural knotty pine finish (which also helped meet the retro vibes we were seeking).
The wall color, Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, was chosen for it's moodiness and nod to our pretty lake. We swapped out the sad, steel sink with a new, bright white quartz sink and bronze faucet. Along with new appliances and pretty, bronze geometrical cabinet hardware from Build.com, the space really came together. Finished off the a few touches from our abode shoppe, and the kitchen was ready for holiday hot cocoa and Sunday morning pancakes!
The Guest Bedroom
Not only does this vacation home serve it's lovely family of four, but it also serves as a getaway for close friends to visit, as well!
The guest bedroom was dark, dated, and in need of a welcoming touch. My goal was to bring in pattern reminiscent of the mountains while playing into a Nordic vibe. The walls and and trim were given fresh paint - Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee & White Dove. This bedroom included an ensuite bathroom which was given a refresh with a new shower insert, hardware, and linens.
The Bunk Room
With two kids of their own, and many others visiting this Incline Village vacation home, our family needed a bunk room that would maximize sleeping capacity. We removed the twin over full bunk and opted for four-double bunks which allowed for a little more space in the room while keeping the sleeping capacity maxed.
The room was given a coat of Benjamin Moore Cedar Mountains adorned with these bunks from Matrix Kids. Fresh sheets and luxe blankets from Beddy's finished off this kid space.
The Primary Bedroom
The primary bedroom is my favorite transformation in this Incline Village vacation home. I wanted to give the owner's a comfy & cozy escape that felt like all their own.
The room details are pulled from a mid-century modern aesthetic while bringing in warmth with lots of texture. We stayed true to the "Tahoe" feeling by including mountain art accented with pops of blue.
