Interior Design Services for a vacation home in Olympic Valley, California.
Abode Interiors was contacted by a homeowner from San Francisco, CA who wanted full interior decorating services for her second home in Lake Tahoe.
The Client Requests
Our Valley Ski Chalet underwent a full renovation of the home. And while the renovation was done beautifully, the home needed a touch of style and coziness.
The homeowner requested full interior decorating services for the 1,500sqft home. Our client loved various styles that we fused together for this home - modern mountain, European / Scandinavian chalet, with a touch of vintage and modern rustic appeal.
The client was interested in a neutral color palette along with all the textures that make a ski lodge inviting and cozy.
The Loft Bedroom
The inspiration for the color palette for the loft bedroom was pulled from an existing art piece the client owned of a snow cat atop a snowy mountain.
From this artwork, we leaned into deep blues and snowy whites to enhance this guest space. A waffle textured duvet cover paired with faux fur throw pillows and blanket, bring lots of cozy to the bedroom. We completed the space with vintage art, table lamps, and a patterned area rug.
The Secondary Bedroom
A European ski chalet wouldn't be complete without antlers and vintage snow gear.
Our goal for the secondary bedroom was modern meets vintage. We leaned into neutral colors while incorporating several patterns to give lots of visual interest. We also added two leather ottomans that can be used for seating and a floor length mirror.
The Primary Bedroom
The primary bedroom is my favorite transformation in this Olympic Valley vacation home. I wanted to give the owner's a comfy & cozy escape that felt like all their own.
The focal point of this room is a beautiful stone fireplace with reclaimed wooden mantle. I wanted to showcase the organic beauty of the stone and incorporate neutral tones to compliment it.
We used light creams, white, warmer beiges and taupe to bring a cozy ski lodge feel to the room. Coupled with a textured rug, sheekskin chair, and pattern blankets and throw pillows, this primary bedroom is ready for cozy, winter evenings.
